PiFinger, the first-ever Fingerprint HAT for Raspberry Pi Comprise of onboard Nuvoton MCU with an on-chip crypto-accelerator, Cortex-M23 TrustZone, and XOM facilities has launched on 24th November priced at £36 at the super early bird discount on kickstarter by SB-Components. One can use the UART/ Serial protocol to communicate with pifinger with the Baud rate 115200 bps or USB 2.0 full speed.
As per the developer of this board, PiFinger is one of the powerful devices that comes with the open-source license that people can use in their DIY projects or their industries. Inside the PiFinger, there is a robust fingerprint sensor that runs on capacitive-contact technology, which is a 2D capacitive fingerprint sensor with an active scanning area of 8.8 x 8x8 mm, and a resolution of 176 x 176 pixels. It offers an indistinguishable experience of PiFinger HAT that would raise the level of curiosity to learn about the people.
Apart from these, you can also interface PiFinger with any microcontrollers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, AVR, ARM, STM32, PIC etc over UART protocol.
